Meet Marc
For nearly three decades, Marc has helped leaders in business, government and professional sports coaches build championship environments. With organizations ranging from startups to billion-dollar companies, and with multiple sports programs from the NCAA all the way to hockey teams in the NHL.
What he’s learned across all those environments is this: the fundamentals of leading people are the same everywhere, and most leaders and coaches are not aware of them. Not because they aren’t capable but because no one equipped them with a “people management” system that was easily accessible and simple to implement.
That’s the Fundamentals of Leading People; a people management system, built from nearly three decades of real-world experience in business, government and elite sport. This is the playbook that leaders need to maximize their team’s potential!
Marc’s journey from the beginning
The Early Years
I was born and raised in Cornwall Ontario. It was the ‘70s and building your own toys was the way things were done.
My first “go-kart”!
Risk Taking Years
I began discovering the consequences of risk taking at an early age. On a positive note, they permanently removed all public merry-go-round swings shortly after my jump for fame.

Fix it Years
In the 80s, my parents had established a standard. If you break something, you fix it! I believed that I could fix just about anything.
Note: They didn’t always work the same, but I still believed! LOL
Mechanical Years
I’ll never forget the sound, smell and feeling of firing up an old ski doo and experiencing the power of a self-propelled vehicle. It got me hooked!

First Business
I love music! Both playing the instruments and DJ’ing. My first business was a DJ business with my friends Sylvain and Mike. It funded me through university and college!
Learning The Trades
We had a big high school dance coming up and I needed a light show for my DJ business. So, I built a board with light switches and put my buddy Olie in charge of the light show!
Note: I blew quite a few fuses back then – testing how electricity worked. There was no “google or youtube” – it was trial and error!

NHL Dream Years
Get ready NHL – for your next Wayne Gretzky!
My dad built a backyard rink every year to help my development. Turns out, my neighbour friends got to use it too. They made the NHL, I didn’t! LOL

Two Chapters
There are 2 chapters in my life. Life before Brenda and life with Brenda. She has completely changed me and my life for the better. I am truly blessed.

Family
Brenda and I wanted to be a better spouses for each other and better parents for our kids, and that was our motivation for taking a deep dive into studying human behaviour.
There’s a lot of different personalities in a family; and once we understood each of their needs, wants and priorities, we tailored our communication to enhance each relationship. Best training we ever received!

Coaching business teams
Experience isn’t free, but it’s valuable. My journey in entrepreneurship was not easy; 8 businesses – 4 failures.
While the difficult times seemed insurmountable, the lessons learned were invaluable. These lessons enabled me to help other leaders and entrepreneurs become more successful.

In 2020, Brenda and I had a lot of time to think through all the organizations we worked with. Specifically; what we did that helped them reach their goals.
